What an amazing turnout for Part II of our series on Empowering Women of Faith: AGING POSITIVELY! In EWOF we come together with women of all ages to learn, grow and laugh with each other!

In March we started a three-part series on the physical, mental and spiritual health of women. We learned about ways to focus on our health with intention, no matter what stage of life. In Session II  we learned from Dr. Ann Marie Semich and Joyce DeFrancesco, ARNP,
the mind-gut connection is a paradigm shift in health care and how we view and treat brain disorders. It is considered one of the most important discoveries in the last 50 years. Our gut microbiome is a diverse interdependent ecosystem that is closely tied to the root cause of several brain diseases and disorders. In order to age positively we must focus on creating and sustaining a healthy gut microbiome in to optimize our brain health. We practiced being aware in the present moment by bringing your attention to one of the 5 senses, the breath or the body. We walked away knowing we should question the validity of our thoughts and were encouraged to see the God in everyone. In this amazing morning we understand the power of our minds and its role in how we age positively!

In May, we'll wrap up this series Aging Positively. You won't want to miss Sally Young and Barbara Johnson speaking on the spirit of a woman. We’ll begin the morning with breakfast and fellowship and then enjoy a moving and meaningful time tailored just to we women and how our faith practices can make a lasting difference in how we live.
